What is it?

HSV-1 is an infection that primarily causes oral herpes, it is generally responsible for cold sores or fever blisters around the mouth and on the face.

How is it spread?

Transmitted through oral secretions or sores on the skin, can be spread through kissing or sharing objects (toothbrushes or eating utensils).

What are the Symptoms?

Is this common?

Most people do not have any symptoms. Most people with oral herpes were infected during childhood or young adulthood from non-sexual contact with saliva. However ,oral herpes caused by HSV-1 can be spread from the mouth to the genitals through oral sex.

Therefore, some cases of genital herpes are caused by HSV-1
